Business Development Manager, Professional Membership
Want to work for a national organisation operating in the significant sector of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds? Do you like interacting directly with people and working together to achieve business goals. This may be the opportunity for you.

The SMSF Association was established in 2003 to lead the professionalism, integrity and sustainability of the Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) Industry in Australia.

Since then, the SMSF sector has grown to be the largest sector in the Australian Superannuation Industry with over:

  • $696 billion in investments and assets under management; and
  • Over one million people with their own self-managed super fund.

In this role, you will drive growth of the Association through:

  • Developing Strategies to achieve short and medium term Professional membership growth across each target professional segment.
  • Developing and implementing plans to grow Professional Membership
  • Managing the business development operating model including structured call and visitation programs to prospective members.
  • Working closely with the local communities to increase attendance by non-members and promote membership to those non- members.
  • Actively engaging with prospective, new and existing members to understand member needs
  • Attending events such as the Technical Conferences, National Conference and Local Community events with a view to supporting delivery of the event and networking with non-member attendees.
  • Building and growing relationships with accountants, financial planners and other professionals that provide advice to SMSF Trustees.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications team to support the execution of marketing strategies and initiatives aimed at increasing Professional Member acquisition.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications to maximize professional member traffic to the website and other online offerings.
  • Draft communications for distribution to non-members, leads and contacts as required
  • Work with key corporates and partnerships such as dealer groups and accounting practices to identify and convert new member opportunities.
