Getting around the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast airport is located approximately 18.5km from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. There are a range of direct flights and low cost fares available so we encourage you to explore all the options available:

 

Airport Transfers

Gold Coast Airport is serviced by an extensive range of ground transport operators, including rental cars, taxis, limousines, rideshare services and bus operators. Please refer to the Gold Coast Airport website for further information.

 

SkyBus

SkyBus offers a shuttle bus service from the airport to the Gold Coast’s most popular destinations. This service operates 24 hours, 7 days. For more information including fares, services, reservations or enquiries visit: skybus.com.au/goldcoast or call 1300 655 655.

 

Taxis

A taxi rank is conveniently located at the southern end of the terminal, outside the domestic arrivals area.

Car Rental

A range of car rental services are available at Gold Coast Airport. Please refer to the Gold Coast Airport website for further information.

 

Public Transport 

If you are planning on using public transport while visiting Queensland you will need to purchase a “go card”. Go card is Translink’s electronic ticketing system. You can use the go card on all public bus, train (including Airtrain), ferry and tram services in greater Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast regions. Pre-purchase of the event go card is $12 and allows unlimited travel for three days. You can pre-purchase your go card during your conference registration. The deadline of pre-booking of the card is Friday 17 January 2020.

TransLink’s integrated network on the Gold Coast includes the G:link trams, Surfside Buslines and Queensland Rail.

Routes 777 and 760 depart from the airport with various stops:

  • Route 777 is a limited stop service, taking you to Broadbeach South tram station, where you can transfer on platform to the G:link for Surfers Paradise, Southport or other bus routes. Route 777 runs every 15 minutes from 7:00am to 7:00pm, seven days a week.
  • Route 760 connects the airport to Varsity Lakes Train Station, departing half hourly.

Surfside also operates buses to Kingscliff and Pottsville from Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah.

Trains

There are frequent trains from Brisbane Central to Varsity Lakes Train Station with connections to Surfside Bus 760 then stops at Gold Coast Airport.
