Julie Steed SSA

Julie has over 30 years’ experience in the superannuation industry as a technical specialist, consultant, administration and client services manager.
She is currently employed as Senior Technical Services Manager at Australian Executor Trustees (part of the IOOF group) where she is responsible for the provision of technical information, specialising in small funds.
Julie has gained extensive experience in assisting advisers, trustees and service providers in meeting a wide range of prudential responsibilities and in assisting advisers with the provision of services to clients.
Julie is passionate about helping people with superannuation and is actively involved in educational aspects of the industry, both for practitioners and individuals.
Julie is a Senior Fellow of Finsia, a Fellow of ASFA and an accredited SMSF Specialist Advisor™ with the SMSF Association.

John Lawler SSA

John grew up on the Far South Coast of New South Wales before moving to Canberra to commence officer training in the Australian Army. He graduated from the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Mathematics before moving to the Royal Military College – Duntroon in 1998 to gain his Officer’s Commission.

He then joined the Corps of Royal Australian Engineers for a military career spanning 20 years in both the Regular Army and Army Reserve. This career included leadership positions during the initial Army deployment to East Timor in 1999 and later within Special Operations.

Upon leaving the Regular Army, John transitioned to a career in financial services and completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment majoring in Financial Planning before landing his first full-time civilian role in the lead up to the Global Financial Crisis. His time in Financial Services has predominately been as a Financial Planner, but has also obtained considerable experience in SMSF administration.

John is currently the leading SMSF Adviser for ANZ Bank in South Australia, an accredited SMSF Specialist Adviser, a member of the Association’s State Community Committee and completed his final FASEA assessment in September 2019.

Peter Crump SSA

Peter Crump is a financial adviser and actuary who has worked in superannuation all of his career, well over 30 years.

He is a private client adviser at ipac south australia, part of ipac and the AMP group of companies. He provides financial advice and expert superannuation advice to his and ipac south australia’s clients.

He is the immediate past Chairman of the SMSF Association and continues as a director of the Association.

He has a few formal qualifications, covering taxation, financial advice and actuarial, as well as being a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is a published co-author and has made numerous presentations and authored papers on superannuation and SMSF related issues.

He has a very patient wife, with whom he has just celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary.
