Estate planning in the new pension environment

Come along and join Perth's first Local Community event of 2019.

Join Peter Hogan as he presents Estate planning in the new pension environment.

This session will look at the estate planning strategies developed to adapt to the 1 July 2017 changes to the definition of what is a death benefit and the limitations on pension accounts. The positives and negatives of these strategies after two years of practical experience in their implementation will be examined.

This is an interactive session using real-time case studies, you will be given the opportunity to thoroughly dissect the issues and come away with a thorough understanding of how to construct advice in the best interests of your clients in this important and complex area.

On completion of this session, participants should be able to:

• Recognise and implement appropriate death benefit strategies to their client’s SMSF, based on their circumstances
• Apply suitable strategies to existing death pensions based on their client’s circumstances
• Implement proper strategies for new death pensions based on their client’s circumstances
