Jenneke Mills

Jenneke is Manager of the MLC Technical Services team, and has been with the MLC Technical team for 6 years. Prior to joining the team, Jenneke was a financial adviser. A regular presenter at adviser Professional Development Days, and client seminars, she is passionate about all areas of financial advice, and assisting advisers and other financial services professionals to provide strategic guidance and recommendations to clients. Her areas of expertise include superannuation, retirement planning, taxation, social security and aged care.

Peter Hogan SSA


Peter Hogan is the SMSF Association’s Head of Education and Technical. He is one of Australia’s foremost SMSF specialists, having worked in the sector over many years. A lawyer by training, he cut his teeth in the ATO before joining some of Australia’s largest financial institutions to work in key superannuation, investment and taxation roles. His enormous industry experience and knowledge, especially as they pertain to tax issues, means he is in constant demand on the SMSF speaking circuit. Peter is an SMSF Association Specialist Adviser and former Chair and National Board member of the Association.

Mary Simmons

With over 20 years experience in the superannuation industry, focusing primarily on SMSFs, Mary has an in-depth, expert knowledge of the industry. With diverse roles spreading across large accounting firms, large and boutique financial service providers as well as Government, Mary offers an all-round understanding of the SMSF industry. Mary has a multifaceted perspective of the SMSF industry, including that of government, a professional advisor and trustee/member.

Mary has authored and presented many pieces of work over the years and has a proven ability to convey complex, technical matters into clear concepts with practical application.

Craig Day SSA

Craig is a Senior Technical Services Manager with Colonial First State’s technical services team, FirstTech, and has over 11 years experience in the financial services industry.

In his role Craig is responsible for the high level analysis and communication of technical information and strategies to advisers and their clients and is a regular contributor to the IFA and Money Management Magazines as well as the Sydney Morning Herald and Australian Financial Review.

Craig is also a regular speaker at industry and corporate functions and is also actively involved in lecturing and course development for Kaplan Professional and is an accredited SMSF specialist adviser.

John Maroney

John’s experience includes extensive senior management and consulting roles in superannuation, insurance, Australian and international financial regulation, actuarial and risk management plus managing professional and industry associations. He has been employed by large and small employers and consultants, within the private and public sectors, within Australia and internationally and he also was self-employed for several years while he developed a successful consulting firm.

Louise Biti SSA

Louise Biti MTax, BEc, BA(AS), Dip FP, CFP, SSA, CTA

Louise is a co-founder and Director of Aged Care Steps, which is the leading business supporting professionals to give advice on aged care and other related matters. Louise is one of pre-eminent experts in aged care, with over 18 years’ experience in aged care advice. Louise is often quoted in media, is a regular speaker at conferences and has been a director on two industry body boards. Her experience is matched with strong educational qualifications with professional designations of a SMSF Specialist Adviser®, a Certified Financial Planner™, a Chartered Tax Adviser and a registered tax agent.
