SMSF Association Membership Cancellation and Refund Policy

A member may seek to withdraw their membership in accordance with clause 9.1 of the SMSF Association Constitution.

Any request to withdraw membership must be provided in writing to SMSF Association by the member themself; notwithstanding who may have paid for the membership.

A withdrawal of membership does not relieve the member from payment of any fees already accrued and owing to the SMSF Association.

There is no entitlement to any refund of fees paid or owing to SMSF Association where membership is withdrawn part way through a membership year.

SMSF Association Events Cancellation and Refund Policy

The SMSF Association hosts a variety of events throughout the year. The following provides a summary of the Association’s Policy concerning any request to cancel, substitute another person or request a refund of fees for our events.

SMSF ASSOCIATION Technical summit 2021 - Gold coast Live event

REGISTRATION

  • All participants are required to officially register via the online registration form.
  • All Summit Registration Fees are in Australian Dollars and include GST.
  • A MAXIMUM of 500 tickets are available. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • All attendees MUST be a financial Fellow or Specialist member of the SMSF Association.
  • By completing your SMSF Association Technical Summit 2021 registration you agree for the SMSF Association to use your personal data to facilitate your registration for this event only. The details you provide will be shared with our event partners including 6Connex and our on-site registration partner.
  • Full payment of fees is required prior to the Conference. Please note that if your registration is made less than 30 days prior to the Conference, credit card is the only payment method available.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

In the event of cancellations not related to state or federal directives around Covid related border closures, social distancing, event numbers or other such restrictions the following cancellation rules and fees shall apply:

  • Registration cancellations received up until 5:00pm (Adelaide time) on Monday 21 June 2021 may be eligible to receive a full refund less a $230 administration fee.
  • Any cancellation received after 5:00pm (Adelaide time) on Monday 21 June 2021 will not be eligible to receive a refund. A credit, after deduction of the $230 administration fee, may be applied to any other SMSF Association event or towards future membership fees.
  • Attendee substitutions to another person from your organisation can be made up until the event commences. Any person attending the live event MUST be a financial Specialist or Fellow member of the SMSF Association.
  • All cancellations and substitutions must be made in writing to [email protected]

COVID-19

Should future relevant state or federal government directives around social distancing and event numbers or structuring change, the SMSF Association will implement as recommended and adjust attendee numbers if required. In these circumstances the SMSF Association may regrettably need to revoke some registrations. Should this eventuate, the SMSF Association will transfer the live registration to a virtual registration and refund the difference between the LIVE event ticket price and the VIRTUAL event ticket price. At the request of the delegate, the registration fee will be refunded in full. If the directive impacts the number of attendees and applies equally to all delegates registrations will be revoked on a last-on, first-off basis.

Should future relevant state or federal government directives guidelines or decisions prevent the SMSF Association Technical Summit from proceeding, the SMSF Association will either:  

  • reschedule the LIVE event to another date;
  • refund the difference between the LIVE event and the VIRTUAL event; or
  • at the request of the delegate, refund the Registration Fee in full.

 DISCLAIMER

  • As a participant of the SMSF Association Technical Summit, your image or voice may be recorded via video, photograph or by any other means (“recorded”) by an officer or official of the SMSF Association Technical Summit 2021 and may be distributed or published at the discretion of the SMSF Association. If you do not wish to be recorded, you are required to formally advise the SMSF Association in writing at [email protected].

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

  • Individual travel arrangements including flights and accommodation are the responsibility of the individual.
  • A dedicated accommodation page has been created exclusively for delegates. It can be found on the conference website or by clicking here.

INSURANCE

  • You are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. Delegate registration fees do not provide any such insurance coverage. The SMSF Association accepts no responsibility for any loss in this regard.

 CONDITION OF ENTRY

Delegates are expected to act professionally and abide by the additional health and safety measures implemented by RACV Royal Pines Resort. Conditions of entry apply to all attendees and are subject to change without notice in line with federal and state government directives.

RACV Royal Pines Resort reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee if showing symptoms such as excessive coughing, fever, running nose etc. The SMSF Association takes no responsibility for the refusal or removal of an attendee.

SMSF ASSOCIATION NATIONAL CONFERENCE
  • Registration cancellations received up to 5:00pm 30 days before the Conference may be eligible to receive a full refund less AUD$230 administration fee.
  • Any cancellation received less than 30 days prior to the Conference will not be eligible to receive a refund. 
  • Attendee substitutions to another person of your organization can be made until the event commences. This may be subject to a price adjustment if applicable.
  • A credit may be held to be applied to any other SMSF Association event however this is subject to approval. In certain circumstances, these credits may be applied towards membership fees.
  • All cancellations and substitutions must be made in writing to [email protected]
ALL OTHER EVENTS
  • Registration cancellations must be received in writing within 3 business days prior to the event.
  • Any cancellations will result in a credit being held against your account, and can be applied as payment for future events run by the SMSF Association. An administration fee of up to AUD$75 may apply.
    Note: Where there is no upcoming SMSF Association events scheduled in your region, a refund minus an administration fee may be issued in place of a credit note (at SMSF Association discretion).
  • Attendee substitutions to another person can be made until the event commences. This may be subject to a price adjustment if applicable
  • All cancellations and substitutions must be made in writing to [email protected]
EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Should exceptional circumstances for a refund exist an application can be made to the Association for consideration to [email protected]
EVENT CANCELLATION BY SMSF ASSOCIATION
  • Where an event is cancelled by the SMSF Association a full refund of event registration will be issued to participants.
