The SMSF Association hosts a variety of events throughout the year. The following provides a summary of the Association’s Terms and Conditions pertaining to specific events and offers.

Registration Fees and Inclusions

All participants are required to officially register via the online registration form. Please ensure you have reviewed the following information to assist in your planning. All prices are in Australian Dollars and include GST.

Membership Savings

In order to obtain the member savings, you must be a financial member at the time of registering. Special Offers may be limited to specific membership categories and/or other specific criteria.

Members who have not renewed their membership for the 2021/22 membership year may not re-join at pro-rata rates and participate in the early bird registration. If you wish to access membership rates you must renew your 2021/22 membership in full.

(*) Conditions apply to Technical Summit Special Offer:

  • Offer not available to Technical Summit attendees that are non-members. 
  • Special offer is in-person for attendance at National Conference 2022 only.
  • Final payment of balance of registration fees due no later than 24 October.
  • If balance of payment is not received by the due date, the registration fee will automatically increase to the Early Bird Member fee ($1,850).

(^) Conditions apply to Group Offer

  • All attendees must be current SMSF Association members (excludes Affiliate members).
  • All attendees must register at the same time for the discount to apply.
  • All attendees must be from the same office (i.e. not applicable for 3 people from the same organisation who work in different offices).
  • If the group falls below 3 attendees for an organisation due to any type of cancellation, the group rate will no longer apply and remaining registrations will be charged at the rate applicable at the time of booking.
Registration
  • All participants are required to officially register via the online registration form.
  • All Registration Fees are in Australian Dollars and include GST.
  • By completing your registration, you agree that the SMSF Association may use your personal data to facilitate your registration for this event only. The details you provide will be shared with our event partners including WALDRONSMITH Management.
  • Full payment of fees is required prior to the Conference. Please note that if your registration is made less than 30 days prior to the conference, credit card is the only payment method available.
Registration Inclusions (IN-PERSON)

Full Conference registrations offer the following:

  • Entry to all sessions, excluding the SMSF Association Thought Leadership Breakfast
  • Entry to the Exhibition
  • Conference satchel
  • Daily catering on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday*
  • Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening
  • Networking Function on Thursday evening
  • Final Day Luncheon on Friday
  • Option to attend Specialist only session on Wednesday (for Fellow and Specialist members only)

(*) Afternoon tea is not included on Friday

Payment Method

Payment can be made in the following ways:

Credit Card Payment

Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. Please note a 1% surcharge applies to Visa and MasterCard payments and 1.5% surcharge for American Express payments.

Cheque Payment

Please make the cheque/bank draft in Australian Dollars payable to “SMSF Association Ltd” and mail to the Conference Office.

International delegates please note: Cheque payment must be received by way of an international bank draft in Australian Dollars which states an Australian drawee bank. We cannot accept personal or company cheques.

On receipt of your payment, a confirmation letter and invoice/receipt will be emailed to you. It is advisable to check all items listed. Any changes or alterations can be made in writing to the Conference Office.

COVID-19 Compliance

The Association is committed to ensuring that it delivers a safe National Conference experience for all attendees (including but not limited to delegates, supporters, exhibitors, staff and contractors).  As a result, we have decided that all attendees (including but not limited to delegates, supporters, exhibitors, staff and contractors) will be required to be double vaccinated before attending the SMSF Association’s National Conference 2022.

Details regarding the provision of verification of your vaccination status will be communicated to you prior to the Conference. Verification may be required in advance of the Conference. To comply with the protocols of Government(s) and/or the venue, you may also be required to show your vaccination status on entry to the state and/or the venue. Please be aware that participants may be refused entry if they do not comply with all attendance requirements.

Special consideration may be given to delegates who are unable to be vaccinated due to medical reasons or extenuating circumstances. All requests for an exemption to the double vaccination policy must be received in writing via email: [email protected]. The decision to allow or decline this exemption is solely the responsibility of the SMSF Association CEO and this decision is FINAL. In the event that protocols or requirements of Government(s) and/or the venue do not authorise exemptions to the double vaccination policy, your registration fee will be refunded in full.

The SMSF Association reserves the right to provide your contact details to authorities and/or the venue for the purpose of contact tracing and or/any other Covid-19 related government requirements.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

In the event of cancellations not related to state or federal directives around Covid related border closures, social distancing, event numbers or other such restrictions the following cancellation rules and fees shall apply:

  • Prior to 24 October 2021, loss of $200 deposit
  • Cancellations received between 25 October 2021 – 16 January 2022, a $250 administration fee applies
  • Any cancellation received less than 30 days prior to the Conference (17 January 2022 onwards) will not be eligible to receive a refund.
Registration categories (excluding Technical Summit Special Offer)
  • Registration cancellations received up to 5.30pm CST 30 days before the Conference (on or before 16 January 2022), will receive a full refund less a $250 administration fee.

  • Any cancellation received less than 30 days prior to the conference (17 January 2022 onwards) will not be eligible to receive a refund.

  • A credit may be held to be applied to any other SMSF Association event (not membership fees) however this is subject to approval.

    Note: Any applicable refund will be returned via the same payment method as the original receipt of funds.

  • Attendee substitutions to another member of your organisation can be made until the event commences. This may be subject to a price adjustment if applicable.

  • All cancellations and substitutions must be made in writing to the conference office [email protected].

COVID-19 CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Should relevant state or federal government COVID-19 related directives, guidelines or decisions (or the consequences of them) prevent the SMSF Association National Conference 2022 from proceeding (including the SMSFA deciding that it will not hold the event as planned), the SMSF Association will:  

  • reschedule the LIVE event to another date;
  • hold the event virtually, register you for the virtual event and refund the difference between the LIVE event and the VIRTUAL event; or
  • Refund the Registration Fee in full should the delegate prefer.

Should relevant state or federal government COVID-19 related directives, guidelines or decisions (or the consequences of them) prevent or preclude a delegate registered to attend the face to face SMSF Association National Conference 2022 from doing so, the SMSF Association will:  

  • Provide that delegate with virtual access to the full program and refund the difference between the LIVE event and the VIRTUAL event; or
  • Refund the Registration Fee in full should the delegate prefer.

Should future relevant state or federal government directives around social distancing and event numbers or structuring change, the SMSF Association will implement them as recommended and adjust attendee numbers if required. In these circumstances, the SMSF Association may regrettably need to revoke some registrations. Should this eventuate, the SMSF Association will transfer the revoked LIVE registrations to VIRTUAL registrations and refund the difference between the LIVE event ticket price and the VIRTUAL event ticket price to these delegates. At the request of these delegates, the registration fee will be refunded in full. If the directive impacts the number of attendees and applies equally to all delegates, registrations will be revoked on a last-on, first-off basis.

Insurance

You are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. Delegate registration fees do not provide any such insurance coverage. The SMSF Association and the Conference Office accept no responsibility or liability for any loss in this regard.

Tax

All Conference Registration Fees and Additional Ticket rates are quoted in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of GST.

Recordings

As a participant of the SMSF Association National Conference, your image or voice may be recorded via video, photograph or by any other means (“recorded”) by staff or contractors of the SMSF Association National Conference 2022 and may be distributed or published at the discretion of the SMSF Association. If you do not wish to be recorded, you are required to formally advise the SMSF Association in writing at [email protected].

Travel & Accommodation

Individual travel arrangements including flights and accommodation are the responsibility of the individual.

Accommodation options are available through the Conference Office via the online registration form.

Some hotels impose strict cancellation policies. At the time of booking, please refer to the individual hotel cancellation policies. Any amendments to the original hotel booking must be forwarded in writing to the Conference Office.

Condition of Entry

Delegates are expected to act professionally and abide by the additional health and safety measures implemented by the Adelaide Convention Centre. Conditions of entry apply to all attendees and are subject to change without notice in line with federal and state government directives.

The Adelaide Convention Centre reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee showing symptoms such as excessive coughing, fever, running nose etc. The SMSF Association takes no responsibility or liability for refusal of entry or removal of an attendee.
