Session Overview:
Aged care issues can arise suddenly – clients and their families often turn first to the professionals they already know and trust.

A fall, declining health, noticing repetition or forgetfulness, needing help at home, the impending move into residential care or the loss of a spouse/parent can all trigger a complex mix of practical and family considerations well beyond just financial considerations.

For all SMSF practitioners, recognising these trigger events is increasingly important. Through practical, real-life case studies, Bronny Speed will explore common aged care scenarios, issues not to be overlooked and how to provide clients with help for themselves or their loved ones.
She will also demonstrate how a variety of professionals fit into the aged care maze, and how non-licensed aged care solutions are essential in the broader ‘advice’ ecosystem.

The session is not about becoming an aged care expert. It is about recognising the triggers, understanding the issues, deciding what you want to manage within your business and how to deal with areas you don’t have the time, resources or strategic intent to manage yourself.
Attendees will leave better equipped to respond when aged care issues arise in conversation by supporting clients and their families – at the same time strengthening client retention and identifying cross-referral revenue opportunities.
