It Depends! The ethics of SMSF advice

Technical Summit 2023

This workshop examined the ethics of SMSF Advice discussing how Advisers can meet the best interest duty in the Corporations Act and the Code of Ethics using a series of case studies that represent the lifecycle of SMSF Advice.

We introduced and discussed a range of client scenarios that advisers face each day in practice, each scenario will have different ethical considerations that require advisers to use their professional judgement when making decisions.

Because no two answers will ever be the same, this workshop allows attendees to practice their ethical decision-making skills to help develop a compliant, and client focussed advice culture.
