Summary

I am a Senior Consultant in Private Wealth at BDO Adelaide and provide advice, guidance and support to my personal advisory clients. My philosophy is "SMSFs provide a useful and effective wealth management, development and succession vehicle for some of my clients while other structures (such as trusts and personal super accounts) may be just as or more appropriate for other clients, depending on their circumstances and goals." I have been "influencing" on SMSFs well before that term developed a wider meaning and bring my professional and life experience to help people to better achieve their goals. Having a sound understanding of the super rules, all of which have been developed while I have been practicing, provides a foundation for me to provide you with the advice you need. I have a number of technical and professional qualifications as a licenced adviser, actuary and tax practitioner, as well as being a Graduate member of the Australia Institute of Company Directors. While I am based in Adelaide, I have clients across Australia and maintain active contact with them all. I have served as a director and Chairman of the SMSF Association and I regularly present at the SMSF Association national conferences and appear as an expert commentator in the Australian Financial Review. This is part of my contribution back to the SMSF sector and to my profession and is based on my day to day experiences with my clients.
