Recent legislative reforms restricting new limited recourse borrowing arrangements (LRBAs) for residential property will reshape how borrowing strategies are used within SMSFs – meaning advisers, trustees and auditors will need to reassess how borrowing fits within contemporary SMSF strategies.

In this session, Richard Chesworth will provide a practical update on the current borrowing environment, including what the new rules do (and do not) prohibit.

This session will examine the practical implications of the new rules, the borrowing opportunities that remain available, and what advisers, trustees and auditors need to consider when assessing borrowing strategies in the current environment.
